Feb 26, 2019 - Braces 1970s 1980s fully banded braces full band orthodontic braces with steel band placed around every tooth to hold brackets. Fitting each band was time consuming so a getting a full set of braces was usual an 8 hour ordeal. Each tooth had space created a week before banding by inserting a spacer, an elastic ring which forced each tooth apart.
